Overview

A newborn needs specialised care, which is why the Department of Neonatology ensures their every comfort and advantage right from the moment they are born.

When an infant is born prematurely, it can develop complications quickly. Our Level 3 Neonatology is equipped with with all modern facilities and fully prepared to meet any such emergency deliveries and special care for the infant thereafter.

Medeor NICU has all modes of ventilation and other pre requisites for the management of preterms, including extreme preterm babies starting 600 gram and above, Paediatric Ultrasound and echo machine, Phototherapy, head/body cooling machine for the management of Birth Asphyxia, etc.

It is operated round the clock by an experienced team of Neonatology specialists, nurses and respiratory therapists. The team is also supported by Paedeiatric Neurologists, Cardiologists, Surgeons and Ophthalmologists (Retinal Specialist to detect and manage Retinopathy of prematurity in preterm babies). A modern transport ventilator is also available for the transport of any sick baby.
